Gáspár Neszméry was a parish priest in Nagybárkány, Nógrád County, between 1879 and 1913. From there he moved to Nyitraegerszeg. In 1914 he was appointed as the district superintendent of education in the Nyitraujlak district. He passed away in 1922.

The central cross of the old cemetery was erected by the family of János Kostyál in 1927 by the stonemason Fellner from Érsekújvár. The names of 30 victims of World War I are engraved on its pedestal. The founder János Kostyál rests a few meters from the cross.
