* Késmárk, October 4, 1842 – † Levoča, September 4, 1905 / chemist, high school teacher, professional writer ; ; He completed his civic and secondary school studies in his hometown. Between 1862 and 1866, he studied chemistry and natural history at the University of Pest, and then obtained a doctorate in humanities. Between 1867 and 1872, he was an assistant teacher at the Institute of Chemistry. In 1872, he was appointed a chemistry teacher at the Levoča high school, while in 1873 and 1875, he spent time in Berlin for scientific training. Between 1875 and 1883, he taught again at the gymnasium, and then in September 1883, he was appointed head of the Szepes County Chemical Experimental Station. He was involved in the examination of Transylvanian mineral waters, the composition of Budapest lighting gas, the chemical analysis of Hungarian soap varieties, the causes of the different colors of Carpathian sandstone, etc. He also discussed the methodology of chemistry education. He was a member of the Berlin Chemical Association and the Levoča city council.
