* Kotterbach/Ötösbánya, July 21, 1844 – † Veszprém, May 8, 1916 / mathematician ; ; He graduated from high school in Igló, Rozsnyó and Levoča. He studied mathematics and physics at the university in Vienna in 1863–1864, and in Berlin in 1864–1865. He was a teacher at the Igló high school in 1871–1883, and the director of the Pest ev. high school between 1871 and 1883. In 1879 he was a private teacher at the University of Budapest, and from 1884 to 1909 he was a public regular teacher and head of the mathematics department. He was one of the founders of the Mathematical and Physical Society. His research mainly concerned determinants and the solution of geometric problems with determinants.
