* Vehéc, September 12, 1856 – † Budapest, May 14, 1908 / writer, historian, editor ; ; He completed his lower schools in Sátoraljaújhely, Eger, Szatmár and Debrecen. He studied law at the University of Budapest. While still a university student, he wrote for the newspapers Családi kör, then Új Idők and Független Polgár. From 1878, he was a contributor to the Független Hírlap. From 1882, he was a contributor to the Budapest newspaper that promoted independence policy, and from 1883 to 1904, he was its editor-in-chief. He collected amusing anecdotes of his time, but also wrote popular historical studies. He discusses the War of Independence in the spirit of the traditions of 1848, but remaining on the surface, with his data clipped and the role of nationalities from a nationalist perspective. He contributed to the editing of Tolnai's World History, and was the compiler of the publications Budapest Large Picture Calendar and Budapest Small Picture Calendar, published between 1886 and 1900.
