* Késmárk, 15 August 1761 – † Vienna, 15 May 1823 / historian, teacher ; ; He began his studies in his hometown, then, like his brother, Keresztély Genersich, he continued them in Debrecen, Felsősajó and Bratislava. In 1782–1785, he studied classical Greek literature at the University of Jena. Upon returning home, he first worked as a tutor in Késmárk, then from 1788 he taught philosophy and philology at the lyceum, and in 1818–1821 he headed the history department. From 1821 until his death, he taught church history and church law at the Protestant theological institute in Vienna. He wrote important historical works, textbooks, and even works of fiction for young people. As a hiker, he often accompanied his brother on his Tatra tours, and he himself dedicated several writings to the Tatra Mountains. He published a book (Versuch eines idioticons der Zipser-Sprache, 1804) on the Zipser language, which is a dialect of the Spiš Saxons and differs significantly from the German vernacular.
