* Gölnicbánya, March 2, 1816 – † Jászó, January 20, 1881 / mining engineer, mining advisor, academic teacher ; ; Between 1836 and 1840, he studied mining, metallurgy and forestry at the Selmecbánya Mining and Forestry Academy, and then, in order to deepen his geological knowledge, he studied with the Austrian mineralogist Wilhelm Haidinger (1795–1871) in Vienna. Between 1840 and 1844, he traveled around Croatia and other foreign mines, studying them. From 1844, he became an assistant professor of mining engineering at the Selmecbánya Academy under the mining advisor János Adriányi. In 1846, he became the mine officer of a mine near Selmecbánya (Bibertárna) and became thoroughly acquainted with almost the entire mining system of the area. From 1855 he became the head of the mining department of the Selmetz Academy and taught there until 1870. For a year he worked as a lecturer at the office of the chief mining officer of Selmetz, but due to his frequent illness he was retired at his own request. He moved to Košice, then to Jászó and worked as the mining, forestry and livestock advisor of the Jászó abbey until his death. He was primarily considered an outstanding teacher, and his son and grandson also worked as mining engineers. He also dealt with the history of mining and metallurgical training in Hungary.
