* Szakolca, February 23, 1852 – † Holics, August 6, 1923 / Roman Catholic priest, plant breeder ; ; He was interested in farming since childhood. He completed his theological studies in Esztergom. In 1876–1877 he was a chaplain in Laskóújfalu, in 1877–1883 in Holics, from 1884 in Csári, from 1914 in Holics, he was a parish priest. He bred several new varieties of grain, corn, melons and 200 potato varieties (e.g. Parasztkedevő, Magyar Kincs, these were also widespread abroad: France, Germany, England, Russia, USA). He also grew industrial and medicinal plants. He won a certificate of honor at the Millennium Exhibition (1896).
