Vága, first half of the 1940s; The installation of the National Flags began in 1925, demonstrating the restoration of the unity of the separated parts of the country and the motherland, and their belonging. By 1941, a total of 722 National Flags had been erected in the Carpathian Basin.; The Vága monument, inaugurated on October 1, 1939, was inaugurated by Dr. Pál Cselényi, Member of Parliament, co-chairman of the National Flag Grand Committee. In his celebratory speech, he emphasized that "this inaugurated national flag not only declares war on small-mindedness and cowardice, but also declares war on that eternally alarming, terrifying and goose-bumpy new defeatism, which in today's historical times wants to weaken the nation's self-confidence, challenge its optimism and cast doubt on its one and eternal vocation in the Carpathian Basin."
