Two girls in costumes. ; In 1854, the Frenchman Disdéri patented the photographic equivalent of one of the indispensable tools of social relations - the name card - the photographic visiting card (visit portrait). The size of this business card-sized image was typically 5.4x9.2 cm, which was glued to a 6.3x10.5 cm cardboard. In the early 1870s, the so-called cabinet picture began to gain ground and spread, which was enlarged to 10.5x17 cm in size, and in terms of its function, it was more often used in family albums, but in framed versions it was also used as a room decoration.
