* Palást, January 29, 1939 / linguist, literary scholar ; ; younger brother of László Zsilka. He graduated from Ipolyság (1957), obtained a Hungarian-Slovak teaching certificate from the Comenius University BTK in Bratislava in 1962. He received his doctorate in 1968, and from 1973 he was a candidate of linguistics. From 1962 he was a lecturer at the Hungarian Department of the Pedagogical College in Nitra, from 1969 at the Literature Cabinet, from 1976 at the Slovak Department. From 1984 he was an associate professor, from 1994 at the University of Brno, and defended his doctoral dissertation in 2000 at the University of Brno. From 1993 he was a lecturer at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Budapest, and is currently the head of the university's Institute of Slavic Studies - Central Europe. External member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. His research interests include stylistics, linguistic statistics, communication theory, semiotics, and lexicography.
