Zoltány Iren Lajos

* Érsekújvár, April 24, 1859 – † Balatonfüred, February 12, 1938 / literary historian, abbot of Pannonhalma ; ; He completed his secondary school studies in his hometown, then entered the Order of Saint Benedict of Pannonhalma in 1875. After completing his theology, he went to Budapest in 1881, where he obtained a secondary school teacher's diploma at the university and a doctorate in humanities in 1884. He was ordained a priest in 1881 and appointed a teacher of Hungarian language and literature at the Pannonhalma Teacher Training College. He was the director of the college from 1910 to 1921. From 1921 until his death, he was the abbot of Bakonybél. He published literary history, linguistics, and pedagogical studies and book reviews. In 1899, he published all of Gergely Czuczor's poetic works in three volumes, with notes and an introduction.
