* Košice, July 1, 1897 – † Budapest, June 28, 1957 / pathologist, university professor ; ; He obtained his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the Budapest University of Science and Technology in 1920. At the beginning of his career, he was an assistant professor, then from 1924 a private teacher at the First Pathological Institute in Budapest. From 1921, he was the chief pathologist at the István Hospital, from 1945-1947 he was the chief physician of the director of the Rókus Hospital, from 1948 he was a professor at the Budapest University of Medicine, and the director of the Second Pathological Institute. He dealt with pathohistology, arteriosclerosis, infectious diseases, heart diseases and cancer. His cancer morbidity statistics are unique in the world. His main work: Cancer Statistics, 1950.
