After completing his studies, he worked in his profession and then as a truck driver for 22 years. He is currently employed by VIATOP s.r.o. He is married and the father of two children. ; He carves in his free time. He was interested in woodcarving since childhood, but his real desire for woodcarving flared up in him in 2011. The theme of his sculptures: bearded people. The graphics of Transylvanian artists have a great influence on him. Their pictures decorate the walls of his workshop. Folk music also acts as a motivating force in the woodcarving process, as catchy zither melodies set the rhythm of the work in Csaba Nagy's small workshop. ; His love and humility for folk art fill his entire life. In addition to woodcarving, he works to popularize folk music as a member of the Sarló zither orchestra in Nyárasd. ; He procures the wood needed to make the sculptures himself or receives it as a gift. He dries the wood naturally, because this way the wood is more lifelike, with its cracks. His favorite wood is cherry wood, but he also works with other types of wood. ; He makes most of the sculptures for his own pleasure and also fulfills requests. ; He asked Géza Csicsói Nagy for advice so that he could delve even deeper into the mysteries of woodcarving. ; At first, he did not think that his sculptures could touch others and have artistic value. ; His first public exhibition was in the village's cultural center. After the exhibition, many people approached him and encouraged him to create sculptures on various themes. ; In 2015, the municipality commissioned him to create a large-scale work, the village's Bethlehem. ; In response to this request, he sculpted the sculptures: Mary, Joseph, the three kings and the baby in the cradle. From the first week of Advent until Epiphany, his sculptures complete the Bethlehem stable in the village's main square. ; In the coming period, he will also be dealing with Bethlehem, as he creates animal figures for the stable. ; However, he continues to carve the means of his self-expression, the bearded men, and places them on his porch with the collected old agricultural tools and a huge pile of stones reminiscent of his time as a truck driver (wherever he went, he brought a piece of rock or stone with him) as a reminder of the diversity of nature. ; We hope that your love and dedication to woodcarving will result in many more creations. We wish that you will be able to open a permanent exhibition of your sculptures and the folk art treasures in your home.
