Vága village seal from 1923

Other - other

Vága, June 22, 1923; As for the use of bilingualism, it was a strange world even then. On the round seal, the name of the village is written in Slovak as Vága, and the county of Bratislava as Bratislava. The leaders of the new country began to de-Hungarianize after the country was plundered. However, we know from history: in the clause of the founding charter of Pannonhalma Abbey written in 1002, Saint Stephen donated a third of the Bratislava customs to the abbey. This founding charter already mentions it as Poson. The donation was confirmed by Béla II in 1137. In 1138 it is mentioned as castrum Posonium.
