* Kéménd, August 27, 1903 – † Marosvásárhely, June 7, 1974 / physician, medical writer, university professor ; ; He completed his secondary education in Budapest, graduated from the Werbőczy István High School in 1922, and obtained his medical degree from the Erzsébet University of Pécs in 1929. While still a university student, he became an intern at the Institute of Public Health, and after completing his university studies, he became an assistant professor at the Institute of Physiology (1929–1932), then at the Otolaryngology Clinic (1932–1940). After his medical qualification, he worked in Oradea for a few months, then was appointed assistant professor at the clinic of the Ferenc József I University of Cluj-Napoca. From 1945, when the Faculty of Medicine was moved to Targu Mures, he led the Department of Otolaryngology, first as a lecturer and then as a professor. He retired in 1970. His first paper dealt with the effect of insulin, which was published in Germany in 1935. His papers on sugar metabolism were also noticed abroad. His articles on otolaryngology were published in Hungarian, Romanian and international scientific journals. From 1951, he published his pioneering observations and theories outside his field on the common origin of plant, animal and human viral diseases in several papers in domestic and foreign journals, as well as in German, Swiss, French, Swedish and domestic study volumes. He wrote a chapter in the volume On the Origin of Life and Aging (ed. Zsuzsa Széll, Bucharest 1958) and in the textbook Otorhinolaryngology (1964). His lithographed university notes, written together with co-authors, entitled Ear, Nose and Throat Medical Notes, were published in five editions in 1950–1959.
