* Hegybánya, August 9, 1867 – † Miskolc, 1936 / forestry engineer, entomologist ; ; He is considered to be of Slovak origin, originally named Vajcík. Between 1878 and 1886, he completed his secondary education in Selmecbánya, first at the Catholic gymnasium and then at the Evangelical lyceum. Between 1886 and 1890, he studied at the forestry faculty of the Selmec Mining and Forestry Academy, obtaining his engineering degree in 1892. Between 1892 and 1900, he was an assistant professor at the descriptive geometry department of the Selmec Academy. Between 1900 and 1909, he was an employee of the state forestry directorate in Bánya Bisztergom. Later, he worked in Liptóújvár and then in Miskolc, and was even appointed chief forestry advisor. He lived in the town of Borsod until his death. He began to deal with zoology and entomology as an academy student. His articles were published in various professional journals. He donated his butterfly collection to the Academy of Selmecbánya and the National Forestry Association.
