* Košice, 30 March 1842 – † Vienna, 10 June 1899 / physician, urologist, university professor ; ; Born into a merchant family in Košice. He completed his secondary school studies in his hometown, then obtained his medical degree from the University of Vienna in 1867. He began his medical career at the Vienna State Hospital, became an expert in surgically treatable urinary tract diseases and kidney problems, and also treated Foreign Minister Gyula Andrássy. He was one of the founders of modern urology.
