He began his school studies in his hometown, then obtained a medical degree from the University of Pest and practiced in the Hungarian capital. He published his entomological studies, primarily related to butterflies, in the Rovartani Lapok. He processed the small butterfly fauna of Hungary. He was one of the founders and first president of the Hungarian Entomological Society.
