Cottage cheese pie in the style of Jolánka Koleszár

Other - other

There was and is a long tradition of making cottage cheese cakes in Nemesradnót and its surroundings. In the past, the cakes were baked in ovens. In preparation for a wedding, women gathered on Friday to bake cakes: cottage cheese cakes, poppy seed and walnut cakes, and jam bags. When they were ready, they wrapped the many delicacies in linen cloths and took them to the wedding house on carts. Smaller quantities of cakes were made not only on holidays. They were served to those working in the fields as a meal that could be consumed at any time, wrapped in a bundle. Children loved them very much, because at that time there were not as many sweets as there are today.
