The weekly newspaper Rákos Vidéke reported on the death of József Tschörner on July 22, 1928: "József Tschörner, the organizer of the state weaving vocational school in Késmárk and its director until the Czech occupation, passed away after a long illness. He made lasting contributions by establishing and developing the Hungarian weaving industry, and made his name known abroad by inventing and perfecting several special weaving machines. His machines are even used in Japan. In addition to his three children: Mrs. Jenő Fleischhacker, née Ida Tschörner, József Tschörner Jr. and the brave Andor Csenghő, he is mourned by his son-in-law, Jenő Fleischhacker, and a large number of relatives. His good friends and acquaintances express their deepest condolences to the family, which is generally respected in Rákosszentmihály."
