* Gömörpéterfala, October 6, 1935 – / poet, aesthete, literary historian, translator ; ; He was the first intellectual in his native village to graduate from university. In 1954, he graduated from the Komárom Gymnasium, and in 1960, he obtained a teaching certificate in Hungarian-Slovak at the Pedagogical College in Bratislava. Between 1960 and 1971, he was the editor of Hét, then from 1965 of Irodalmi Szemle, and from 1992 to 1996, he was its editor-in-chief. In 1971 to 1976, he was an assistant professor at the Department of Hungarian Literature at the Pedagogical College in Nitra, where he primarily lectured on old Hungarian literature. From 1976 to 1991, he headed the Slovak translation literature editorial office of the Madách Book and Magazine Publishing House in Bratislava, and from 1991 to 2002, he was a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Hungarian Language and Literature at the Comenius University in Bratislava. He is primarily known as a poet, but his studies in literary studies, literary history and literary aesthetics are also significant. His literary work has been recognized with numerous awards. In 2004, he received the Kossuth Prize. Since 2005, he has been a member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts. As a literary historian, he has mainly dealt with representatives of older Hungarian literature (László Amadé, Albert Szenczi Molnár, etc.).
