Lajos Toth

* Léva, December 20, 1882 – † Budapest, July 1, 1957 / Reformed priest, teacher, church historian, theologian ; ; Léva graduated from high school in 1901. Between 1901 and 1905, he studied theology at the ref. college in Pápán, then expanded his knowledge in Switzerland (Basel, Bern) and Scotland (Edinburgh). Upon returning home, he served as an assistant pastor in Garamvezekény and Nagysalló, and was a pastor in Zólyom between 1909 and 1919. In 1920, he moved to Budapest and worked as a catechist. Between 1921 and 1947, he became a private teacher of the Old Testament at the Pontifical Theological Academy, then a professor.
