John Toth-Kurucz

* Izsa, May 5, 1878 – † Dunaalmás, March 21, 1969 / secondary school teacher, amateur archaeologist ; ; He completed his school studies in Pápa, Selmecbánya and Győr. He taught in Jászapáti from 1900 to 1902. In 1902 he enrolled in the history department of the University of Budapest. In his doctoral dissertation, he dealt with the archaeological excavation of the Roman-era military camp (Leányvár) located near his native village. He published the results of his further research in the annual bulletins of the Komárom County and City Museum Association (1908, 1908, 1910). He retired in 1944 and lived in Dunaalmás until his death. He also conducted archaeological research as a pensioner, but he no longer published the results of these.
