He graduated from high school in Tornalján, then studied Hungarian-physical education at the Pedagogical College in Bratislava, but did not complete his studies. From 1961, he was the editor and later the editor-in-chief of Szabad Földműves, Új Ifjúság, and then Tábortűz.
