Vága, 1970s; The work of the Advent period is the common plucking of feathers. At such times, 20-25 people would gather at a house. Mainly women and girls. After the work done in the evenings, the pluckers were offered popcorn, boiled broad beans, csipka (dried apples), a compote made from sugar beets and beets with sugar, vinegar and caraway seed water, coffee or tea.
