* Tornyos, July 20, 1675 – † Košice, April 7, 1736 / Jesuit monk, historian, polymath ; ; He entered the Jesuit order in 1693 and taught for a long time in the order's schools (Nagyszombat, Košice). Later, he was abbot in several places. He wrote historical, geographical, grammatical and theological works in Latin. He founded the Jesuit school of historiography with his chronological method. He emphasized the importance of certificates in the study of history. He also dealt with the symbolism of the Hungarian coat of arms.
