* Rozsnyó, October 31, 1888 – † Budapest, October 23, 1968 / writer, painter, museologist, ethnographer; ; younger brother of painter Gyula Tichy (1879–1920). He studied at the free school of Simon Hollósy in Munich (1906), then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest from 1907 to 1911. His graphics teacher was Viktor Olgyai. His first graphics were exhibited while he was still at college, and his first writings were published in the Rozsnyói Híradob. In 1923–1927 he was the editor of Sajó Vidék, then a colleague of the Prague Hungarian Hírlap. In 1927 his independent volume entitled A négé évszak was published with his own illustrations. In 1930 he became the head of the Rožňava City Museum, and from 1934 he became the secretary of the Gömör district of the Hungarian Cultural Association of Slovenia. His writings were published in the Hungarian Néplap and the Hungarian Minerva in Bratislava. In 1935 he published his monograph on Pelsőc (From Philiceum to Pelsőcig). He also engaged in ethnographic research and collection, and his material is preserved in the database of the Museum of Ethnography. He processed the archive legacy of Albert Pákh. He developed a plan to save the monuments, folk culture and folk art of Gömör. His artistic photographs, drawings and paintings of the former Rožňava are of documentary value. Between 1938 and 1945 his writings were published in Napkelet, Pásztortűz, Tükör, Búvár, Forrás and the Új Magyar Múzeum. As a member of the KÉVE (Hungarian Association of Fine and Applied Artists) (1910–1945), his works of fine art were published one after another. His mainly Art Nouveau graphic works are significant. ; He published a series of linocuts entitled Tales of an Ink Glass. His painting The Siege of the Crow-legged Castle became the property of the Bratislava Museum. He also wrote short stories, novels, and literary criticism. From 1948 he lived with his wife in Budapest.
