* Szentmihályfalva, February 23, 1902 – † Budapest, January 13, 1995 / Jesuit astronomer, theologian, member of the Saint Stephen Academy ; ; He completed his studies at the University of Budapest, then expanded his knowledge at the Dublin Observatory, and in 1934 at the Vatican's Castel Gandolfo Observatory, he achieved significant results regarding the structure of the Milky Way, mainly in the field of examining selected star fields of the Milky Way. He also made observations of binary stars and asteroids. From 1940 he taught cosmogony at the Theological College in Košice, in the 1945/46 academic year he was an assistant at the Department of Astronomy at the Pázmány Péter University in Budapest, and then until the nationalization on 9 July 1950 he was the director of the Haynald Observatory in Kalocsa. Here he again worked on measuring star pairs. From 1950 he was barred from any significant astronomical work. His studies were published in the Astronomische Nachrichten and between 1937 and 1940 in the volumes of the Comunicazione Specola Vaticana (CSP).
