* Jolsva, 15 November 1789 – † Pest, 9 July 1840 / lawyer, newspaper editor, translator ; ; He completed his secondary school studies in Késmárk, then studied law and became a lawyer in Pest. Between 1819 and 1827 he edited the monthly journal Tudományos Gyűjtemény, which was launched in 1817, and he largely formed the staff of the journal. He published few articles in this journal, but he also wrote several articles in the scientific, literary and critical journal Sas, which was published and edited by him between 1831 and 1833. He was also a contributor to the encyclopedia Közhasznú Esmeretek Tára. The Hungarian Academy of Sciences elected him a corresponding member in 1831. He translated Walter Scott's historical novel Ivanhoe, which was published in six volumes in 1829–1831. His death was caused by a stroke.
