The photo was taken in the studio of G (?). Gallinaro, in Pula, on Via Promontori. ; In 1813 Pula and Istria were annexed to Austria. This time brought prosperity to Pula. From 1859, the large natural harbor of Pula became the main military port of the Habsburg Empire and an important shipbuilding center. During the First World War, the port of Pula became the main base for the Austro-Hungarian battleships and the entire Imperial and Royal Navy.
