* Nagyszombat, 24/26 March 1769 – † Pest, 18/19 November 1816 / physician, philosopher, naturalist ; ; He obtained his medical degree from the University of Pest in 1793. In 1810 he became the first keeper of the MNM's natural history collection. He dealt with mineralogy and petrology, and on behalf of Palatine Joseph he also studied Hungarian coal and created a fine collection of it. He was a member of the Jena Mineralogical Society. He traveled to several parts of the Carpathians with Hungarian nobles. He died of a cerebral hemorrhage. In a paper written in German, he wrote about an iron meteorite that fell in the Carpathians (Auffindung einer neven Masse Meteor-Eisen auf den Karpathen, 1814).
