* October 25, 1929, Kolon, † May 25, 2012, Kolon / Volunteer ethnographer, local historian ; In the 1940s, he attended the Hungarian grammar school in Bratislava, his studies were interrupted by the war. Later, he was a farmer, a worker, the chairman of the local national committee of the Kolon village (1954–1957), the assistant accountant of the local agricultural cooperative (1958–1960), a storekeeper (1960–1977), and then the secretary of the Nitra district committee of the Csemadok (1977–1990). He was engaged in collecting folk traditions and local history of his native village and the narrower region, Zoboralja. ; ; He devoted most of his life to expanding the cultural reputation of Kolon and the Hungarians of Zoboralja. For years he held the position of secretary of the Nitra district Csemadok, so it is partly thanks to him that cultural life still exists in the Hungarian-populated villages of the district. ; In Kolonban, he was the founder of the local Csemadok organization, participated in the presentation of the famous Koloni lagz performance, organized and was a full member of the Zobor Hangja Vegyeskar. Countless theatrical performances are also linked to his name, and he participated in them both as an actor and director. The founding of the village museum is also thanks to him, because he spared neither time nor energy to collect old objects suitable for exhibition and place them in the renovated museum rooms. János's word also proved decisive in the creation of the original open-air stage and its further transformation. He was there in the editorial staff of Koloni Visszhang when our village newspaper began its now 10-year career. For this reason, János Sándor was made an honorary citizen by the municipality of Kolon in 1998 for his dedicated cultural and human activities. He never followed his own interests in his work, always placing the public interest at the forefront of his activities. ; ; Works: ; Kolon. A Village in Zoboralján (1996, 2004) ; Village Mischiefs from Zoboralján (2006).
