* January 28, 1951, Alsócsitár - / linguist, teacher ; ; Anna Sándor was born in Alsócsitár near Nyitra. She completed primary school in her native village and in Nyitragerencsér, then graduated from the then-existing Hungarian grammar school in Nyitra in 1969. In 1974, she graduated from the Hungarian-Latin department of the Comenius University in Bratislava, and in 1983, she obtained a teaching certificate in history. Between 1974 and 1985, she was a grammar school teacher, and from 1990, a lecturer at the Department of Hungarian Language and Literature at the Pedagogical College in Nyitra (now Constantine the Philosopher University). In 1986, she obtained a minor doctorate, and in 2000, a PhD in Hungarian linguistics from the Faculty of Humanities of Eötvös Loránd University. He habilitated in Hungarian linguistics there in 2005. ; Between 2001 and 2014, he was the head of the Department of Hungarian Language and Literature at the Konstantin Philosophers University of Nyitra. His scientific activities are primarily focused on dialect research, linguistic geography issues and sociolinguistics. Some of his publications also concern issues of onomastics, translation studies and mother tongue education. He is a member of the Hungarian Linguistic Society. His research areas are dialectology, sociolinguistics, translatology, onomastics and mother tongue education. In recent years, he has been the leader or researcher of several domestic and international scientific projects. He has given lectures as a guest lecturer at Hungarian and other foreign higher education institutions (University of Helsinki). ; He is an active participant and organizer of domestic and foreign linguistic conferences. In addition to representatives of the profession, he has also informed the wider public about the scientific approach to language and language use issues of public interest. In addition to his residence, he gave lectures in several villages in the Nitra region, and was a frequent speaker in the Our Mother Language section of the Hungarian broadcast of the Slovak Radio in recent years.
