* Dobsina, October 24, 1860 – † Rákosszentmihály, December 3, 1937 / philosopher, evangelical theologian ; ; Born into a mining family, he began his schooling in his hometown, graduated from the Rozsnyó gymnasium, and completed the theological course in Prešov in 1881. He obtained his doctorate in humanities at the University of Halle in 1884 by defending his dissertation on the Reformation in Hungary (Reformation in Ungarn). In that year, he was appointed professor of theology in Prešov, and later became its director. He was married and had 9 daughters. He retired in 1922. In 1931, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences honored his teaching and writing work with the Gábor Kazinczy Prize and a commemorative medal.
