* Košice, January 1, 1922 – † Balatonakarattya, September 19, 2002 / chemist, research engineer, honorary university professor ; ; Graduated in chemistry from the University of Budapest in 1944. In 1949, he received a doctorate in humanities. In 1952, he initiated research into domestic germanium devices and the development base for the production technology of semiconductor devices at the Telecommunication Industry Research Institute. At his encouragement, many young chemists began to study semiconductor materials in Hungary. In 1959, his work was awarded the Kossuth Prize. From 1971, he was the deputy scientific director of the Technical Physics Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and from 1980, he was a doctor of technical science. Author of several textbooks, university notes, and publications in numerous domestic and foreign journals dealing with the technology of semiconductor materials and devices.
