Arpad Szenassy

* Komárom, March 20, 1953 – † Komárom, December 4, 2005 / agricultural engineer, local historian, book and newspaper publisher ; ; He graduated from the Komárom Technical School (1972) and obtained a diploma in agricultural engineering from the Prague Agricultural University (1977). He worked as an agricultural engineer in Komárom from 1977 to 1990. He was the deputy mayor of Komárom from 1990 to 1995. From 1995 to 2005, he was co-owner of the Komárom Printing and Publishing House and director of the KT Publishing House. At first, he published articles on agricultural topics, and later wrote and edited studies and books on the history of science and culture. The publishing house he ran published several hundred local history booklets and books. He was the founder of the monthly magazine Múltunk emlékei. Together with István Meszlényi, the printing director of Komárom, he restored and renovated one of the noble mansions in Csúz, where he organized scientific reading afternoons, and in 2002 he founded the Institute of Cultural History based in Csúz. Due to his early death, the publication of the new volumes of the encyclopedia presenting the churches of the Árpád-era highlands was interrupted. ; ; His main works: ; From Hetény to Pápá.
