Zoltán Szeberényi

* Komárom, August 11, 1930 – / literary historian, literary critic, university lecturer ; ; After his elementary school studies, he worked as a worker in the Komárom shipyard. He graduated from the mechanical engineering technical school in the evening department in 1953. After his high school graduation, he became a student at the Pedagogical College in Bratislava and obtained a Hungarian teaching certificate in 1957. He taught at the Galanta Gymnasium in 1957–1960, then became a lecturer at the Teacher Training College in Nyitra. He was head of department in 1968–1974 and 1980–1985. He taught as an associate professor at the Hungarian department between 1985–1995. Since 1995, he has lived in Komárom as a pensioner. As a literary historian, he primarily dealt with the history of Hungarian literature in Czechoslovakia between the two world wars and the work of Dezső Győry. He wrote several monographs about Hungarian writers and poets in Slovakia and summarized the history of Hungarian literature in Slovakia after World War II.
