* Bratislava, June 17, 1920 – † Galánta, September 25, 2010; ; He graduated from high school in his hometown in 1938, and received his agricultural engineering degree from the Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Mosonmagyaróvár in 1943. From 1943 to 1945, he was an employee of the Diószegi Cukorgyár Rt. He worked as a plant breeder in Diószeg from 1945. He primarily dealt with the breeding of cereals. He published scientific popularization articles in Slovak Hungarian newspapers and regularly gave professional lectures. He actively participated in the Hungarian choral movement in Slovakia, and was a member of the Vox Humana Mixed Choir in Diószeg from 1964 to 1989, and the Kodály Zoltán Choir in Galánta from 1984 to 1990. His son, Mihály Szamák (Bratislava, 6 July 1949 –) is a biologist and newspaper editor who worked as a geneticist at the Úszor Plant Breeding Station between 1972 and 1985.
