Mgr. Gábor Szalay is a writer, essayist, ; Born in 1982 in Dunaszerdahely. ; Field of activity: writing, essay writing, philosophy ; Settlements related to his life: Nyárasd, Dunaszerdahely, Egyházkarcsa, Eger, Somorja, Komárom, Budapest. ; He finished elementary school in his native village. He obtained a catering qualification in Somorja in 2003, and then a teaching diploma at Selye János University in Komárom in 2009. ; His first poems were published in the student newspaper of the Nyárasd elementary school, as well as in the Catholic weekly Remény, the monthly Cserkész, the literary and public affairs magazine Új Arc based in Eger, and in the Visszhang Anthology, also published in Eger, between 1993 and 1997. ; Between 2001 and 2003, he led the National Association of Independent Artists – Aranykert, a civil association based in Dunaszerdahely, while also serving as the Csallóköz representative of the International Association of Hungarian Writers based in Eger. ; In 2009-2010, he taught in Egyházkarcsa, in 2013 in the Slovak-language elementary school in Nagymegyer, and then pursued a variety of occupations. In his free time, he wrote continuously. ; In 2012, his first independent book, written in 2010, entitled Higher Dimensions, was published by the Új Tudós Kiadó in Szárliget (Hungary), a metaphysical study on theosophical topics. In the same year, he wrote his literary history and meditative essay collection Divine Melancholy, which was published privately in 2015 with the help of Underground Kiadó in Budapest. Since that same year, he has been a member of the club supporting underground authors operating under the auspices of Underground Kiadó. Since 2015, his interest has turned towards fiction and philosophy, and since then he has been publishing his works with the help of this publisher.
