* Košice, July 27, 1897 – † Debrecen, November 21, 1958 / pomologist, lawyer ; ; He studied law and then worked as a fruit grower on farms. In 1947–1948, he headed the Ágasegyháza experimental farm as the national supervisor of the fruit tree protection campaign organized by the Ministry of Agriculture. From 1952, he was the head of the farm organization group at the Horticultural Research Institute and from 1956 until his death, he headed the Újfehértó Experimental Institute. He was one of the pioneers of the winter apple farm cultivation in Hungary. He is credited with creating the concept of the so-called “fruit tree unit” for determining the fruit capacity of fruit trees.
