* Serke, 15 August 1862 – † Cegléd, 19 October 1944 / teacher, literary historian ; ; He began his school studies in his native village, then continued in Rimaszombat, and studied theology in Sárospatak. In 1889, he earned a teaching certificate at the University of Budapest. He taught in Karcag, Rimaszombat, Kisújszállás, and finally in Debrecen from 1894, then as director of the boys' high school of the Debrecen ref. college, and retired in 1929 as director general. He was co-editor of the Sárospatak Youth Journal (1884–1886), edited the Órállót (1895), the Debrecen Lélkészi Tárt (1902–1904), and the Yearbook of the National Reformed Teachers' Union (1902–1920). He was also a collaborator of the Pallas Nagy Lexikona, where he wrote mainly historical articles. He also published stories and poems.
