Alexander Strba

* Érsekújvár, October 18, 1946 – / local historian, secondary school teacher ; ; He completed his primary and secondary school education in his hometown (graduated in 1964), obtained a primary school teaching certificate in Hungarian-German at the Pedagogical College in Nyitra in 1972, and a secondary school teaching certificate in Hungarian-German at the Comenius University in Bratislava (1983). From 1971 he taught at a vocational secondary school in Udvard. Between 1988 and 1992 he was a colleague of the Honismereti (today: János Thain) Museum of Érsekújvár. Between 1992 and 2004 he taught German again in Udvard. Since 2004 he has been a private teacher of German and a chronicler of the city. In 1999, he founded the Bibliotheka Kaláka Private Library with his wife, Katalin Strba. He was awarded the Mayor's Award in 1997 and the Pro Urbe Award in 2007. He researches the local history of Érsekújvár, has published more than 500 articles and numerous local history books, and has organized about ten local history exhibitions. In 1991–1993, he published a series of booklets entitled My Town, Érsekújvár and also released 4 video cassettes.
