* Nyitra, January 20, 1891 – † Vienna, November 12, 1975 / pediatrician, university ; teacher ; ; He studied at the University of Vienna (1909–1914). In 1918–1925 he became a pediatrician at the Bratislava Children's Clinic led by Pál Heim, then he was an assistant professor in Berlin, later in Vienna. In 1932 he was qualified as a private teacher in Vienna. Between 1933–1946 he was appointed chief pediatrician in Washington (USA). In 1946–1947 he was a visiting professor at the University of Shanghai (China). From 1947 to 1961, until his retirement, he was a professor of pediatrics at the University of Manila (Philippines). He returned to Vienna in 1961. He mainly dealt with the salt and water balance of infants and young children, and with tumors in infancy and childhood. He achieved significant results in the field of research on diseases of the hematopoietic organs in infancy and childhood, e.g. leukocytosis. He initiated twin studies in the field of clinical pathology. Many of his studies have been published in foreign and domestic journals.
