* Malacka, 1849 – † Bratislava, 1919 / landowner, archaeologist, art collector ; ; We know little reliable information about his life. According to Samu Borovszky’s Bratislava county monograph, he primarily dealt with archaeology and numismatics, but he also operated a meteorological station and an archaeological and ethnographic museum. His coin collection was estimated at about 14 thousand pieces. He also had ceramics in Habán – about 1000 pieces.96 He was a contributor to the Pallas Nagy Lexikona, and regularly reported on economic events, published educational articles on the former Upper Hungarian clay industry, etc. He was an active member of numerous national and county associations and societies. After his death, his collection was divided up again, the best of it was selected in the first years, and the rest was scattered later.
