Pál Pongrác Sörös

*  Komárom, August 24, 1873 – † Győr, January 5, 1919 / Benedictine teacher, historian, corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. ; ; He became a member of the Order of St. Benedict of Pannonhalma in 1890, and was ordained a priest in 1896. In 1898, he obtained a teaching certificate in historical Latin at the University of Budapest. In 1899, he conducted archival research in Rome. The Hungarian Academy of Sciences elected him a corresponding member in 1909, and in 1916 he became a member of the Saint Stephen Academy. In 1896–1899, he was a teacher at the Papal Gymnasium, and from 1899 at the Pannonhalma Teacher Training College.
