Antal Solyi

* Komárom, 6 May 1913 – † ? 1946 / mathematician ; ; Graduated from Zalaegerszeg. In 1931 he won a shared second prize at the national physics competition (Ágoston Budó, later a distinguished professor of physics, was the other winner, the first prize was not awarded). In 1936 he obtained a teaching certificate in mathematics and physics from the University of Szeged, and in 1941 he became a doctor of humanities in mathematics. Above all, he dealt with the problems of the calculus of variations of multivariable functions.
