* Prešov, 15 December 1738 – † Nagyvárad, 26 September 1818 / archaeologist, university professor, canon of Nagyvárad ; ; He joined the Jesuit order in 1756, then completed his theology in Nagyszombat and became prefect of the Teresianum in Vienna. When the Jesuit order was dissolved in 1773, he studied philosophy and in 1777 became a second-year student at the Buda University Library. From 1780 he taught archaeology at the university, and in 1794 he was appointed director of the university library. From 1802 he was a canon of Nagyvárad. He laid the foundations of scientific archaeology in Hungary with his works written in Latin and German. His Hungarian coin and money catalogues are valuable sources.
