Ruffy Varga Kalman

* Léva, 29 August 1873 – † Debrecen, 9 November 1942 / agricultural economist, agricultural writer ; ; He graduated from the Academy of Economics in Magyaróvár in 1893. In 1897 he became a doctor of philosophy at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of Cluj-Napoca. He was a professor at the Academy of Economics in Magyaróvár, then Cluj-Napoca, and from 1900 at the Academy of Economics in Košice. From 1921 he was the director of the Academy of Economics in Debrecen. He retired in 1935. He worked a lot on the problem of irrigation of the Great Plain.
