Ferenc Ribary

* Kolta, October 6, 1827 – † Budapest, May 17, 1880 / teacher, historian, geographical writer ; ; He participated in the 1848/49 War of Independence and was captured by the Austrians. He was released in 1851 and became an educator. From 1861 he worked as a substitute teacher at the Buda High School, while he graduated from university and in 1863 received a teaching certificate in history and geography, and in 1869 obtained a private teacher's qualification at the University of Pest. He primarily dealt with ancient history, but his geographical textbooks are also significant.
