; He completed his studies in Bratislava, entered the Jesuit order in 1761, and then became a teacher at the Theresianum in Vienna. After the dissolution of the order, he was a secular priest and from 1777 a teacher of practical geometry (or applied higher quantity theory) at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Buda (later Pest), and a lecturer on the most important subjects of the Engineering Institute (Institutum Geometricum) organized in 1782, and in 1792 the rector of the institution. From 1800 to 1803 he was deputy director of the Bratislava Academy, later canon of Bratislava and director general of the Győr school district. He wrote numerous mathematical, geodesic and technical textbooks. A valuable feature of his textbooks is that they contain not only theoretical considerations, but also provide guidance on the practical implementation of measurements.
